A Boy Called Bat
by Elana K. Arnold
The story of Bixby Alexander Tam, nicknamed "BAT", who loves vanilla yogurt, his room (bat cave) and animals! He hopes and plans to be a veterinarian, like his mother. So when she brings home an orphaned baby skunk, planning to take it to a wildlife rescue center in a month, BAT has a different idea. He wants to convince his mother (and older sister) that he can keep and raise the skunk. But he doesn't have much time to learn enough about baby skunks to prove to them he can do it. Read to find out if he can or if he should, while getting to know some engaging, funny and authentic characters that help us all gain empathy and perseverance.
