Meet our Community Helpers
For the first research project of this school year, we practiced taking notes in Nearpod and talking about the steps of research. Next 2nd graders used one book to take notes on a community worker using a graphic organizer that asked what do they do?, where they work? and what special equipment they use or special training they have in order to do the job? Then students changed their note facts into a script that shares what they believe is the most important part of the job and what they like best about being that community worker. Next they each chose a photo of a community worker and using the iPad app Explain Everything took their own photo, cut out their face and transformed the picture to make themselves the worker! Finally they recorded their script. Enjoy all the community helpers.
