While families read The Wild Robot at home, in school classes discuss, debate, predict and create with the story. Each class also worked on their Class Robot: first asking what kind of robot would best represent our class? As a result classes are creating robots that: help us follow the Patton Way, help us learn, help the school stay organized and read to us, just to name a few of the many purposes the Patton class robots will have. Classes also extended their understanding of the book with mini design challenges that solve problems that animals on the island have using only 3 materials. Some classes have designed a product that would help Roz navigate the land on the island or its weather.
