As part of the Earth's Changing Surface science unit, 4th graders learned how the earth changes through deposition, erosion, tectonic plate movement and volcanic eruption. In LMC, students studied a National Park to learn which of these processes formed its incredible and unique landforms and took notes using Bubbl.us a brainstorm and mind mapping online tool. Next they wrote a script about the park's landforms and recorded it with an iPad, ultimately creating an iMovie about the park. Here are some of the geology travel videos from Mrs. Koenig's class:

I am the Library Media Center director at Patton School in Arlington Heights where I help students from kindergarten through 5th grade find terrific independent reading for enjoyment and information, and teach students the skills to use information and technology safely and productively and to connect, communicate and share with others. I have four grown children, a large black dog, (flat coat retriever) and a small striped cat. I am an obessive Chicago Cubs fan and I love to run.
