A Day with Poetry from Patton LMC on Vimeo.
Thanks to the Patton PTA, Bill Buczinksy, the poetry man, visited Patton on Tuesday April 28 for a full day of poetry rhythm, metaphor and images. Kindergarten - 2nd grade participated in a poetry performance in the Commons featuring, guitar, bongos, Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein and students too, with plenty of rhythm and song. 5th grade classes and two 3rd grade classes participated in poetry workshops in the LMC where students learned about what makes poetry different from prose, making lists of words for an image and turning those words around until a poetic image came through.
