As part of their science curriculum on biomes of the world, student's each researched one biome (Desert, Taiga, Rainforest, Deciduous Forest, Marine, Chaparell, Savanna or Grassland) to become an expert on its location, climate, the plants and animals that live there and the adaptations they have in order to survive there. Then each student designed and drew their own animal with features and characteristics that help it survive and thrive in the biome. Finally, using an iPad app called Explain Everything, they inserted a photo of the animal they designed onto a photo of the biome, and then "explained" its features and how they help it to adapt. Enjoy Mrs. Johnson's class animals below and the other classes on the 3rd grade projects page.
