POETRY!
FOR NATIONAL POEM IN YOUR POCKET DAY!
April 30, 2015
On Thursday, April 30 Patton participated in the National Poem in Your Pocket Day! Students and teachers kept a favorite poem or a poem they wrote in their pocket and shared it in class, lunch, LMC and at many other points during the school day. Governor Rauner, Superintendent Bein and Dr. Olson skyped in to LMC classes to share their favorite poems and listen to students. We also shared with two 5th grade classes at Ivy Hill School. It was a beautiful poetry filled special day. Take a look:
On April 30, have a poem chosen and printed out to keep in your pocket! Then proudly wear a sticker that says - I've a poem in pocket...ask me to share it! Sharing will take place all day; at morning announcements, at lunch, in class, specials and in the hallways! Read them, share them, trade them...Don't be caught without a poem!
