K students completed their first independent research, using PebbleGo as our resource and recording information on an "animal checklist" graphic organizer. First students chose a Polar Animal and then listened to each chapter, at least twice, before taking notes on their organizer, checking off information such as, whether the animal is a fish, mammal or bird, its habitat is land, water, or a tree, what it eats, and how many legs it has, if any. Students also recorded one new word. Next we found photos of each animal and using Chatterpix, an iPad app, they created a video sharing a fact.
