As third graders studied the history of Illinois and the development of the city of Chicago, they created an online collaborative timeline. First the class split up into groups to each study a period of the history and choose 4 or 5 events of importance during that period. After researching the who, what, where and when of the event and thinking about why it was important to Illinois, each student entered information for one event onto a timeline in Tiki-Toki. After entering the content, they chose a good image and an authoritative link to include for more information. Here is the timeline created by Mrs. Leigh's class:
